Juxtaposition Arts

Client, 2015-2021

I was an Institutional Giving Manager and Teaching Artist at Juxtaposition Arts, a North Minneapolis Black-led nonprofit that offers arts education and job training to youth aged 15-21.

In my fundraising role, I collaborated with leadership to build and execute fund development strategies, wrote, submitted, and managed institutional grants to meet annual fundraising goals, and built relationships with new and recurring funding partners. In my programs facilitation role, I managed youth participatory action research projects and client projects related to the built environment of North Minneapolis and social systems that impact its residents. This work included training youth in the creation and execution of design-based and culturally relevant community engagement methods, facilitation, interviewing, qualitative data analysis, and game design.

“Adrienne possesses the ability to sit within the nuances of Black culture, creativity, and curiosity. Her unique skills and perspective have led to the sincere relationships she’s built within JXTA’s community, her colorful and logically sound writing which has secured significant funding for our organization, and her genuine ability to support the development of young people. These professional commitments are an extension of Adrienne’s personality. We at JXTA have been honored to witness, learn, and grow from them.”
