BIO & CONTACT
As an artist with 7 years of experience in grant writing and nonprofit program facilitation, I hold indispensable expertise in funding strategy, a unique perspective, and a vested interest in supporting other artists of color. I have raised roughly $2 million for nonprofits in the Twin Cities from private foundations, corporate foundations, and government sources including the McKnight Foundation, the Best Buy Foundation, and the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development. In my freelancing practice, I empower my clients with the language and strategy they need to resource their work and achieve their goals. My detailed, collaborative process supports my clients in finding the words to tell their stories with as much care and intention as possible. I work with individual artists, fiscally-sponsored groups, and arts and culture nonprofits with priority given to Black and POCI folks.
I am a zine artist, writer, and curator. Currently, my creative practice examines place, migration, and memory through an interdisciplinary use of Audre Lorde’s concept of biomythography. I’m a co-founder of Burn Something Collective, a group of 7 artists, land stewards, archivists, and writers creating opportunities for Black and POCI femme, nonbinary, and trans artists in the Twin Cities through exhibitions and publishing projects.
